The Applied Network Research (ANR) group is located at the University of California, San Diego Supercomputer Center. Our research activities on high-performance networks encompass measurement and analysis of network performance and traffic flow for High Performance Connection (HPC) sites (through our Network Analysis Infrastructure [NAI]), and the creation and development of a prototype high performance wireless backbone network.
We are still the same folks. We are now using our original name (from the early 1990s) as an "umbrella" name to reflect our expanded research activities, which are now two separately funded research projects: the National Laboratory for Applied Network Research (NLANR) and the High Performance Wireless Research and Education Network (HPWREN).
